Detailed Itinerary

Day 01:Arrive Islamabad

Welcome at Islamabad airport and transfer to hotel

Day 02:Islamabad to Swat 280 Kms - 07/08 hours via Takht-e-Bahi

Morning departure for Swat, enroute stop at Takht-e-Bahi, a monastery from Buddhist times & Charsadda - identified as ancient Pushkalavati, the pre-Kushan capital of Gandhara.  During the Buddhist period, it was the capital of the province and according to Buddhist legends, was the place where Lord Buddha preached his faith. Overnight in hotel.

Day 03:Swat/Chitral - 300 Kms - 09/10 hours

After breakfast drive to Chitral via Dir and picturesque Lowari Pass (3174 m), lying in the midst of the Hindukush Range, it's one of the world's most beautiful regions. Chitral (1800 m) offers enchanting scenery in the shadow of the majestic Trich Mir, at 7708m, is the highest peak of the Hindukush Range.The people of Chitral, the "Kho", show traces of Persian and Turkish ancestry. Walking best sees Chitral town. In this one street mountain town, we visit the Shahi Mosque, a beautiful white structure built by the former rulers. In its courtyard are buried former rulers and members of their families. Nearby, is the historic Fort of Chitral where a small contingent of the British Army was besieged for almost thirty days. From the fort is an awe-inspiring view of Trich Mir Mountain with the Chitral River flowing nearby. The winding street of the Chitral Bazaar is famous for household objects, antiques and handicrafts obtained from the remote valleys. Overnight at Hotel.

 

Day 04:Chitral/Kalash - 40 Kms - 02 hours

Chitral is most famous for the Kalash people who inhabit the southwestern part of the region.The "Kalash Country" is spread over three valleys: Bamburet, Birir and Rambur. Kalash have fascinated anthropologists and historians by their obscure origins, colorful festivals, curious customs & rituals. This is an ideal opportunity to do some mountain walking, or enjoy the serenity that the majestic scenery offers. Overnight at hotel.

 

 

Day 05:Kalash Sightseeing

Full day sightseeing tour of the Bamburet visit local houses and meeting with friendly people. Later visit old cemetery of the village, rest of the time free to enjoy the beauty of the area. Overnight at motel.

 

Day 06:Kalash/Mastuj - 150 Kms - 07/08 hours

Today the exciting part of our journey will start as we move further from towns and towards the wilderness and peaceful areas where the pace of life is slow and things dictated by nature. Drive along the Kunhar River to Mastuj on arrival transfer to motel.

 

Day 07:Mastuj/Gupis - 155 Kms - 09/10 hours

Another wonderful day as we gain height on an uphill journey till the Shandur pass (3734 m) the highest Polo Ground in the world . Later we continue our journey through Phandar valley known as “Little Kashmir”. Moreover we will stop at different amazing landscapes of the valley. On arrival transfer to Motel.

 

 

 

Day 08:Gupis/Gulmit - 255 Kms - 08/09 hours

Drive from Gupis to Gulmit along Ghizer River, also visit Kargha Buddha carved on the rock from 7th century A.D. Afternoon visit old suspension bridge and bazaar of Gilgit, later continue drive to Gulmit on the way stop at Rakaposhi (7788 m) viewpoint. On arrival at Gulmit transfer to hotel.

 

Day 09:Gulmit/Karimabad - 35 Kms - 01 hours

After breakfast short drive to Passu glacier, in the way stop at Hussani viewpoint, which offers the superb view of Gulmit tower (6200m), Shishper peak (7411 m), Passu peak (7478 m) and Cathedral peak (6100m).

Later visit Gulmit (2700 m) village and meet with friendly people of this peaceful place. Moreover the village provides the panoramic view of the surrounding mountains as well. In evening drive to Karimabad. On arrival at Karimabad transfer to hotel.

 

Day 10:Excursion Hopper glacier & Sightseeing of Karimabad

Today we will take an excursion to Hopper (2900 m) high snowcapped mountains surrounds the village of Hopper, which is 14 km from Karimabad (2400 m) Hunza. Hopper offers fine view of Ultar Peak (7388m) and Barpu glacier. A leisurely stroll through the tiny picturesque village will give you an opportunity to observe the everyday life of the countryside. Hopper is another popular trekking spot, offering a natural blend of ruggedness and scenic beauty. The valley of Nagar lies opposite the town. Returned on same route to Karimabad.

Late afternoon sightseeing tour of Baltit fort (The old residence of Mir (King) of Hunza), which has been converted to Museum after renovation. Having visited the interesting Baltit fort, we walk in the beautiful street of Karimabad, which is famous for handicrafts, Gems and Rugs. Overnight at hotel.

Day 11:Hunza/Chilas 220 Kms - 06/07 hours

Drive from Hunza to Chilas on the way stop at the Pak-China memorial, for the memories of those workers who sacrificed their life during the construction of Karakorum Highway. Later stop at unique place to view the junction of three great ranges of the world i.e. Karakorum, Himalayas and Hindukush. Later stop at Nanga Parbat (8126m) viewpoint, the 09th highest peak of the world. On arrival at Chilas transfer to hotel.

 

Day 12:Chilas/Naran -120 Kms - 09/10 Hrs

After breakfast drive to Naran through Babusar Pass (3200m). After the pass we will enter in Kaghan Valley and gradually will descend the pass. Kaghan Valley is very famous among the tourist because of its greenery and pine trees. On arrival transfer to hotel.

 

Day 13:Naran to Islamabad - 290 Kms - 09/10 hrs.

After breakfast drive to Islamabad through Mansehra and Abbottabad on arrival at Taxila continue visit of Taxila sites, which was once the seat of oriental culture.

It is famous for the rare specimens of stucco from the Gandhara period. The museum houses objects and sculptures dating from the 4th century BC to the 5th century AD. Visit museum & Buddhist sites of Taxila. Later drive to Islamabad/Rawalpindi. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 14:Sightseeing Rawalpindi/Islamabad

Today we visit the old garrison town of Rawalpindi followed by a drive into modernity at Islamabad. This is followed by the Damn-e-koh (View Point), which gives us a panoramic view of Islamabad before driving past various modern streets and buildings graceful with a touch of Islamic architecture. Our tour culminates at one of the world's largest mosque-Shah Faisal Mosque. Overnight at hotel.
